I've heard Miss Phoebe say to Sammy Green:
You are the meanest man I ever seen.
You beat me, you kicked me, and dogged me 'round,
You're the cruelest man in this here town.
Did everything a real woman could do;
So listen what I've got to say to you:

You just start packin' up your two rags,
Don't you dare try to steal my hand bag.
Wrap 'em up in that paint box behind the door,
I mean, I don't want you no more.
Now, I am telling you to your face,
I've got another man that's gonna take your place,
So go and tell the world you've got them no home blues!

You just start takin' off that winter coat,
Why, Sammy, you must take me for a daniel goat,
I am gonna tell you some very bad news
And don't forget to give me back my hat and my shoes.
I want back that new suit I bought the other day,
Now, papa, there's the door, so please be on your way,
So go and tell the world you've got them no home blues!
